Goals of the Group
This 6 week Lunch & Learn series will offer a supportive and educational enviroment topics will be indivudualized to group needs, but may include:

Exploring the path to diagnosis and common reasons signs of autism are overlooked. -
Is It Really Autism?
Understanding the diagnostic process and what it means for your child and family. -
Reframing Autism
Moving from a deficit-based view to recognizing autism as a complex neurotype. -
Gaining Insight Into Your Journey
Reflecting on the psychological and emotional experiences you’ve had so far. -
Understanding Autism in Daily Life
Learning the key aspects of autism and how they impact both your child and you. -
Improving Communication
Practical strategies to address the “double empathy problem” and overcome common communication challenges. -
Building a New Relationship Framework
Reimagining your connection with your child in light of this new understanding.

Groups will take place from 12-1 on consecutive Wednesdays from October 15 to November 19 at noon.

Sessions will be held on zoom.

Groups will half diadactic, half discussion based.

Each week participants will recieve resources to learn no their own.

Attendance at all sessions is encouraged; there are no refunds for missed sessions. If group members agree we can consider recording the didactic portions.

Late diagnoses is generally after 13 years old.

In this group we define young adults as 17-25.

This group is appropriate for any caregivers or loved ones. As many people from one family can attend at the same fee. We encourage grandparents and babysitters!
